Architectural design 2

This module emphasizes on the relationship between the user and natural environment. It helps students to understand the principles and ways to analyze, abstract and synthesize in the process of design thinking, which includes researching through precedent studies, making models and identifying and applying the design concepts and principles based on the referenced existing building.

P1 OVERVIEW

Diagramming Architectural Principles 

In a group of 5-6, members are assigned to one architect and his/her key buildings. Then, the group is required to come out with orthographic and perspective drawing, diagrams and models.

P2 OVERVIEW

Designing with Architectural Principles and Materiality 

In groups of 3-4, members are required to generate a craft tropical rainforest discovery platform that focuses on spatial experience, with a maximum volume of 125cm³.

Designing with Architectural Principles, Materiality, Context, and Users

Individually, students are required to design and model a tropical wildlife discovery unit situated at Bukit Jalil Recreational Park, with a maximum space of 100sqm.
